I’m all for getting more children into homes, but doesn’t using refuse trucks send a subtle message about them?
Under the plan, two of Bexley’s “refuse lorries” will be used to carry placards calling on residents to foster a child from the borough in need of a stable home.
The “hope is that the lorries will make possible future foster carers sit up and take notice!”
Let’s hope that the children won’t be harmed by the odd juxtaposition. Perhaps move the placards to recycling lorries would make less comment about the cast-off situation of the children involved? And be more apt: Fostering as a new beginning for children let down by their family situation?
